I’m a passionate advocate for bringing Behavioural Science (BeSci) to Compliance and Risk Management.
My name is Christian and my background is in Financial Services where I have worked as a Practitioner, Regulator and Risk/Compliance Officer.
I am a former Chief Operating Officer of the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA), a subsidiary of the Bank of England which for financial regulation. Prior to assuming that role, I was Head of Department within Supervision at the PRA and its predecessor the FSA. the supervision of a number of systemically important international banks at the PRA and its predecessor the FSA. My regulatory experience also includes a two-year secondment as a case officer at the UK Takeover Panel.
Following my career as a regulator, I was Global Head of Compliance & Operational Risk Control (C&ORC) for an Asset Management Firm within a universal bank and responsible for C&ORC EMEA for the Firm as a whole. It was in these capacities that I recognised the potential for deploying BeSci to deliver better, more cost-effective outcomes. I went on to establish an in-house BeSci capability, which pioneered its use in Compliance & Risk and more broadly.
In my early career, I worked as a strategy and economic consultant, before moving into Corporate Finance.
I am a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and I hold an MA in Modern Languages from the University of Oxford.
